Volunteering

Most children in Northern Ireland attend school - that's why the ministry of Scripture Union in schools is so exciting!  Here are three ways in which you might consider being involved.

Schools Volunteer Teams

Could you volunteer to be part of a team that helps to take assemblies, RE lessons and SU meetings in the schools in your area?

During 2010-11 there are a number of teams that you could be part of and these are listed below. Within each team there are a number of different activities in which you could be involved and for details of these in each case please click on the appropriate link below.

All team members are trained and supported by Scripture Union schools staff.

If you're over 18 and have a heart to serve God in schools, it would be great to have you on board. To join any of our schools teams, please click here and follow the onscreen instructions.

SU Leaders

Would you be willing to help as a leader in a school SU group? Would you be willing to consider starting a new group in your school or in a school near you?

If so, please email the schools team to find out more about how you could be involved.

SU Representatives

Are you a teacher or someone in regular contact with a primary school in which there is no SU group at present? If so, would you be willing to consider acting as an SU representative for your school?

SU representatives receive regular information from Scripture Union and make use of it as may be appropriate in their schools. They receive information, for example, about recommended resources, about staff and volunteers available to take part in lessons and assemblies, about events for teachers and pupils and about SU holiday activities. In order to be an SU representative all we ask is that you are in agreement with our statement of Doctrinal and Policy Guidelines .

If you would be interested in acting as an SU representative for your school, please contact us by emailing schools@suni.co.uk.
