Rachel Sheppard Ballymena E3 Schools Worker

Rachel is our First E3 Schools’ Worker for Ballymena (BT 42-44 District) which

comprises of around churches, 29 Primary Schools, 8 post-Primary Schools and 1 Specialist School.

Before joining the SU schools team in September 2009, Rachel trained as a Primary school teacher and has had many years of experience in children’s and youth work, volunteering in her own church and also being placed with a church in Lisburn as part of a gap year. It is her passion to help children and young people engage with the bible and to discover and understand the good news of Jesus and how it can impact their lives.

Through the E3 project, Rachel’s work includes hands-on involvement in assemblies, classes and SU groups in primary and post-primary schools, the encouragement and training of Christian teachers and pupils and the promotion of good church-school links. Please pray as she works alongside groups and individuals to empower them for God’s glory.

I feel so priviledged and excited by my job and the opportunities to enage and equp churches, share with pupils and teachers the truth and relevance of God’s word for their lives and to support those who are living out their faith in schools. Seeing God moving in an individual’s life and the school communities of Ballymena!
