10,000 young people reading through the Bible in 100 days - who would have thought?

It all starts on the 3 October!

This year SUNI, Summer Madness, and many other Christian groups and churches celebrated the role of the Bible in today's world - commemorating the 400 anniversary of thee KJV. One of the special initiatives launched here in NI was the Essential 100 Bible reading plan for young people which ‘goes live' online at www.e100chat.com on October 3rd.

This project takes the reader through the entire sweep of the story of the Bible in 100 ‘essential' readings. So, to encourage the widest possible participation in the programme a special book was printed with all of the texts drawn together from the N.I.V. - E100 Books.

10,000 of these E100 books arrived from the printers at the start of September and within a week all but a few hundred have were distributed across the many groups and agencies that are supporting the initiative.

Alongside the reading programme a web blog has been established for commentary and feedback, and there's even a Mobile App created for those wishing to join the campaign on the move. Over 30 local Bible teachers and Youth Pastors have agreed to blog some of their reflections on each of the passages and support young people as they grapple with the application of the story for their own lives.

For a complete list of all of those churches and agencies involved and further details of the E100 reading plan visit  www.e100chat.com

It is so exciting to see this massive uptake and the prospect of thousands of young people exploring together the central message and texts of the Bible.
