Missions

SU Missions (you might know some as CSSM) bring together children and young people from all over the country to celebrate God’s Good News through games, bible studies, drama, chats, craft, getting to know each other and much, much more. Group on Sanddunes

Summer 2010 will see 21 missions running throughout July and August all across the country. In August we have a new mission called Connect, running for a week in Loughbrickland, which has grown out of the smaller mission that ran there last summer. This year also sees the return of Benone CSSM and Ballycastle CSSM after both took a break in summer 2009.

Maybe you live really close to one of our missions or maybe you’ll be on holiday in one of these places this summer. If so then why not come along and check it out. Whether you’re 4 or 17 you’ll find something just for you.

Ballycrochan CSSM

Scripture Union - We have spaces!
Bangor7 Aug - 13 Aug

Leader

Martin Thompson

Information

There's no beach in sight but Ballycrochan CSSM still has the feel of any other CSSM-lots of fun and laughter and the goal of bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ to both the kids and the community in the surrounding area. With the involvement of 3 local churches in providing halls, leaders, five star accommodation (on the CSSM star rating system!) and great food, Ballycrochan has a great community feel and a sense that the mission continues after we leave. This year we are aiming for a team of around 25 leaders so there's lots of room for YOU! With over 120 children aged from 4-18 and four age sections there are opportunities in all age groups for everyone and anyone to get stuck in, have fun and most of all share Jesus. Why not take up the challenge of CSSM and join us in Ballycrochan

Our particular strengths are that we have excellent team teaching, training, and discipling - it is a growing and maturing experience for all team members who come; we run a fast paced, multi-media, and LOUD programme of activities involving a lot of drama, music, and excitement; and that we work increasingly in partnership with local churches to ensure that we have a lasting impact. Come to Ballyholme if you are looking to serve, but also to be invested in.

We cater for both primary school children and younger teens, having developed this last year. We meet with the children 3 times a day for one week and do Bible-based teaching in a fun interactive way along with other fun activities. Roe Valley CSSM

Scripture Union - We have spaces!
Dungiven / The Largy8 Aug - 15 Aug

Leader

Dr Clive Glass

Information

Roe Valley CSSM is now a well established mission that began in 1997. One of its unique features is that Roe Valley CSSM is a two-centred mission. In the mornings we meet with up to 50 children in Dungiven, a small town made famous by Eoghan Quigg that nestles in the foothills of Benbradagh some 20 miles from Londonderry! In the afternoons we move to the Largy, a townland on the outskirts of Limavady and not far from the picturesque Roe Valley Country Park. Here we work with approximately 60 children from a variety of church backgrounds. In the evenings we return to Dungiven for Teen Scene, a programme geared specifically to the 11+ age group, when 30+ young people enter enthusiastically into a wide variety of activities. New team members are assured of a warm welcome, with those from outside the area being hosted by members of Dungiven and Largy Presbyterian Churches. As one of the final missions of the summer, this may be the last opportunity you will have to serve God on a CSSM team before returning to school or uni, so why not get in touch with us and bring the summer to a fitting close by sharing the gospel with the children and young people of the Roe Valley? We look forward to hearing from you.
