Prayer Focus
Thursday 17th May 2012
Please pray for our Camp & Mission leaders as they attend a First Aid/Food Hygiene training day on 9 June at Cairnshill Methodist Church. Pray that it will be beneficial and enjoyable for everyone involved.
Welcome to Camps + Missions
Each summer SUNI run Camps and Missions for children and young people all across Northern Ireland and further afield. Summer 2011 saw 35 camps and missions reach around 6000 children and young people with the Good News of Jesus. During outdoor pursuits camps, beach holiday missions and many more, we witnessed God do amazing things in the lives of children, young people, volunteers and parents. We know that the impact of this summer will remain long after the flip flops and shorts are packed away.
What were the highlights of summer 2011?? We asked our volunteers for encouraging stories and here is what they shared -
"On the last day we had some cardboard testimonies. They read - 'worthless, insignificant - yet God found worth in me!' 'Dark soul now living in his light,' and many more... "Three girls from last year who started up their own Bible study after camp are still going strong. They came back this year and were telling all the other campers about their Bible study and were encouraging others to do the same - so we had lots of girls wanting to start their own Bible study/prayer groups!" "The introduction of prayer ministry was extremely encouraging. We saw in a new way what Jesus meant when he said of children that 'the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these.' Their openness to come to God in prayer and to receive prayer was an example to us as adults." "One camper took up our end of camp challenge to invite one friend to a school SU group, but he took it further and one by one invited everyone in his school year to SU personally. WOW. His boldness really challenged us as he was teased for doing this, but persisted."Want to join the fun next year?
